How It Works

Simple process.
No surprises.

Working with a web designer can feel like a mystery. Here is exactly what happens, step by step, from the first conversation to launch day and beyond.

01

The
Conversation

Free, no obligation

We start with a quick call or message to talk about your business, what you need, and what you are hoping to accomplish. No pressure, no pitch. Just a conversation to figure out if we are a good fit and what the right approach looks like for you.

What you need to bring

  • A rough idea of what you want (even "I don't know, just something professional" works)
  • Any websites you like the look of
  • Your business name and what you do
02

The
Plan

Scope, price, timeline

Once we know what you need, I put together a clear scope of work with a flat price and a realistic timeline. No hourly rates, no surprise invoices. You know exactly what you are getting and what it costs before anything starts.

What happens here

  • Scope document with pages, features, and deliverables listed
  • Flat-rate quote with no hidden fees
  • Timeline from kickoff to launch
  • Deposit to confirm and lock in your start date
03

The
Build

Design, code, review

This is where the work happens. I design and build your site from scratch, hand-coded to match your brand. You will see it take shape through a shared preview link so you can follow along, give feedback, and request changes without waiting until the end.

What you need to provide

  • Logo file (if you have one) or direction on colours and style
  • Photos or willingness to use high-quality stock images
  • Copy for each page, or opt into my copywriting add-on
  • Business details: phone, email, service area, hours
04

The
Launch

Live, handed off, yours

When the site is approved and ready, I deploy it to your domain and walk you through everything. How to make basic updates, where to find your files, how to manage your Google Business Profile. You leave with a site that is live and a clear picture of how to use it.

What gets handed off

  • Live site deployed to your domain
  • All source files
  • Walkthrough of how to make basic updates
  • Google Business Profile setup or optimization
05

The
Support

30 days included, retainer optional

Every project includes 30 days of post-launch support. If something needs adjusting, a typo needs fixing, or you just have a question, I am available. After that, you can stay on a monthly retainer if you want ongoing updates and management, or you walk away with everything you need to run it yourself.

Included in every project

  • 30 days of post-launch edits and fixes
  • Email and message support
  • Optional monthly retainer for ongoing updates, SEO, and management

Site takes shape on a preview link. You review and request changes as it develops.

Week 3 – 4
Review & Refine

Final revisions, testing on all devices, SEO basics, and pre-launch checklist completed.

Week 4

Site goes live, walkthrough call, files handed off. 30-day support window begins.

Common Questions

Things people
usually ask.

Do I need to write my own content?
Not necessarily. You know your business better than anyone, so your input matters. But if writing is not your thing, I can help shape your words into clean, professional copy based on a few bullet points or a quick conversation. Just ask and we will figure out what works.
What if I don't have a logo?
That is more common than you think. We can work with your business name and build a clean typographic look that feels professional without needing a full brand identity. If you want a logo down the road, that is something we can add on.
How much input do I need to give during the build?
As much or as little as you want. Some clients like to check in daily, others prefer to see the finished product. The preview link is always there if you want to follow along. At minimum I will need your feedback at one or two key checkpoints before we finalize everything.
What happens if I need changes after launch?
The 30-day post-launch support covers reasonable edits and fixes. After that, you have two options: a monthly retainer that covers ongoing updates and management, or a simple hourly rate for one-off changes. Either way, you will never be stuck with a site you can't update.
Will my site work on phones?
Yes, always. Every site is built mobile-first and tested on multiple screen sizes before launch. Most of your clients will find you on their phone, so this is never optional.
